KPI named after Igor Sikorskyi organizes a summer school on urban planning

The National Technical University of Ukraine "Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" announces the summer school "Shaping the Urban Environment for Tomorrow". The event will take place from July 1 to 5, 2024 in a mixed format, including online and offline sessions, on the basis of the Scientific and Technical Library named after G.I. Denisenko

The organizers of the summer school seek to reveal the transformative potential of Ukrainian universities in the development of climate-neutral and sustainable cities, which is part of the UNICITIES project, supported by the Erasmus+KA2 program. The purpose of the event is to improve the quality of training of higher education applicants and to involve them in participating in international projects.

Presentations by international lecturers and experts in the field of sustainable urban development are planned within the framework of the school. Among them are Olga Kordas, associate professor at the Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden), Elena Udovik from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain) and Jose Moreno from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain).

The school program includes intensive lectures, work in groups, consultations with speakers, practical classes and presentations of work. The main topics will be sustainable urban development, participatory planning and innovative approaches to urban management.

The organizing committee of the event includes leading specialists of KPI named after Igor Sikorskyi and other scientific institutions. In particular, the committee members include Vadym Denysenko, Yevhen Pysmenny, Stanislav Kukhtyk, Volodymyr Voloshchuk, Maria Hryshchenko and others.

Rector of KPI named after Igor Sikorsky, Mykhailo Zgurovsky, approved the program of the event and instructed the relevant units of the university to ensure proper organization and conduct of the school.
